Multiple Adaptive Model Predictive Controllers for Frequency Regulation in Wind Farms

Frequent and inadequate power regulation could significantly impact the main shaft mechanical load fatigue of wind turbines, which imposes a stringent requirement to perform frequency regulation. However, existing work on mainly uses torque compensation improve response, while few them consider caused by controller. In this paper, can be mitigated in all speed sections thanks proposed controllers. Precisely, multiple adaptive model predictive controller (MAMPC), seamlessly integrates control (MMPC) real-time AutoRegressive with eXogenous inputs (ARX) model, is proposed. It nicely handles rate change mitigate sections. The effectiveness our method verified through extensive simulations. With method, minimum deviation reduced, number cycles extended.
